Cooperative Agreement with U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground to study raptors

PI:  Kirk Bates

The purpose of the Cooperative Agreement (CA) between the Raptor Research Center (RRC) and the U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) in Utah is to establish a multiyear project to plan and gather critical information that will be used for managing raptors at the DPG.

RRC personnel are providing science based study planning, design, and implementation. We are continuing to develop various protocols for, and conducting, raptor surveys during the nesting and non-nesting periods. One study component at DPG we are attempting to assess is whether or not any differences in raptor occurrence and use may occur between more intensively used military testing and training areas compared with those having less intensive use.
