From 1999 to 2002, Brian was a Research Assistant for the Division of Forestry at West Virginia University while working on his Ph.D.
Brian worked for the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) from 2002 to 2007, serving first as their Small Game/Farm Bill Program Coordinator and then as their Wildlife Diversity Program Coordinator.
In 2006, Brian received his Ph.D. from West Virginia University, studying Ruffed Grouse survival.
From 2007 to 2012, he worked for the American Bird Conservancy as the Appalachian Mountains Joint Venture Coordinator.
Currently, he is working for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as the Deputy Chief of Migratory Birds for Region 6, based out of Lakewood, CO.
